Warwick Davis as the Leprechaun
Leprechaun: Back 2 tha Hood
Leprechaun: Back in Da Hood
Format Used: DVD
Contains: Graphic Language, Graphic Violence, Sexual Content, Drug Use
The Leprechaun has been imprisoned in a failed Youth Center construction sight. A Pot dealer and his girlfriend find his
miny chest of gold, his ever full chest of gold. Just dump it out and it refills itself, magically.
With the chest in the hands of the pot heads, da skies da limit. But just as they were enjoying themselves the Leprechaun
arrives to spoil their fun. Now it turns from getting high to staying alive for this small group.
I liked this sixth insallment, it finally explained who this Leprechaun was and it was indeed the same Leprechaun in all six
movies. But my issue is partly the title. This Hip Hop bad grammar. "Back 2 tha 'hood" shorting neighborhood
to 'hood is just fine, but when they start teaching our children to mispell on purpose to be hip is just wrong, I take offense
to THA, that is not a word. It is three letters. It should read "BACK TO THE 'HOOD" That's my two sense.
I GIVE IT...8 STARS
I agree with Zedd about the poor spelling and Grammer. The title is an English Teacher's worst nightmare. But that's not
all that I found wrong with this lattest installment. The human characters of the 'hood was very steriotypical of the so
called "'hood". gang member, pot sellers, pot smokers, whores and bigot cops. Pretty two-dimentional characters
if you ask me. But Warwick too this weak material and had fun with it, I did enjoy Warwick Davis, I always do.
I GIVE IT...7½ STARS
ON THE POSITIVE SIDE (+ HITS):
+ LEPRECHAUN (I always enjoy the Leprechaun movies)
+ BACKSTORY (They finally have the backstory on why this leprechaun is evil that they should have had in the first movie)
+ WARWICK DAVIS (A great actor, which a fine career in fantasy and horror)
+ HUMOR (It was funny watching this little Irish terror interact with the gangs and the pot heads)
ON THE NEGATIVE SIDE (- MISSES):
- BAD GRAMMAR (T-H-A does not spell a word)
- HUMAN CHARACTERS (All the characters were just two dimentional gang movie type characters)
